A safe room or underground shelter is the best place to be during severe weather. But what happens if a storm leaves debris, and you are unable to escape your safe place?
In response to community concerns, City of Duncan’s new storm shelter registration program is ready to assist in ensuring your safety after the storm passes. This registration is used to indicate your intended safe area in the event of a disaster. Information gathered will be entered into a database to be used ONLY by rescue personnel responding to the disaster area. Remember that during severe weather emergencies first responders, including police and fire, are taxed with numerous calls and may not be immediately available to check your shelter. It is recommended that you also identify a friend or family member who can be responsible to check on your safety.
Residents are encouraged to complete the registration below to have their storm shelter placed on the City of Duncan’s master storm shelter list. Registered storm shelters may only be an above-ground safe room, below-ground storm shelter, or basement.
Reminder: this list will be used to locate your shelter in the event of a disaster and will not be available for public viewing, nor shared with the general public.
